Welcome to Mighty Waters!
Our Mission
Our hope is that anyone facing a storm in their life, such as cancer, grief or respite can find a safe harbor.

A native of San Angelo, Texas, Sheila Tomerlin felt a calling to begin the nonprofit that became Mighty Waters. She and her husband Tommy wanted to share their property and convert it into a place where all felt welcome. They envisioned a place of refuge and relaxation for those facing life’s storms. Through Mighty Waters’s retreats, attendees will come away well rested and empowered with tools for better health and will have support in their journey even after the retreat. They hope to open their doors to both men and women, caregivers, and those experiencing grief in the future and to continue to expand in all states.
Our Retreats
Our retreats are centered around nourishing the mind, body and spirit. This safe harbor provides a place of refuge for healing, hope and renewal. Initially our retreats will focus on supporting women with cancer and will always be completely free to those attending.
Upcoming Events
Our next retreat will be July 21st – 23rd 2023. We will be welcoming women on their cancer journey. We are excited after several years of planning and preparation that the dream of Mighty Waters is being realized!
We hosted our first retreat in May 2021 for First Responders but are thrilled we can begin to fully open our doors and provide much needed respite and support. We look forward to sharing updates from our first retreat soon!
